
The Peak Performance Protocol
I honestly did not train as well as I should have for my first marathon. But it was not as difficult as I had first imagined. So now Iām super exited about preparing for the 2026 LA Marathon.
My training route in Upland includes a 5-mile climb up 866 feet of incline, starting over 1000 feet above sea level. This is the perfect environment for building hemoglobin. Then I follow-up with a half-mile or mile-long swim at 24 Hour Fitness.


My new training route
My new training route is illustrated to the left of this box. 5.19 miles one way, up an 866 foot climb. On the way back down I detour on Foothill to 24 Hour Fitness, for weights, sauna, and a mile swim.
